City of San Angelo launches new web page for street repairs


SAINT-ANGELO – San Angelo has 867 miles of residential streets, 283 miles of main roads, and now a website to follow them all.

Tuesday, May 4, 2021, the city of San Angelo has launched a new page on its official website with detailed information on street projects and infrastructure. Public Information Officer Brian Groves said the webpage was a long but useful endeavor.

“Our office worked with our public works department last month to collect information and build the page to try and create a one-stop-shop for all streets,” Groves said in a message to The Standard-Times.

By visiting cosatx.us/streets, residents can follow the streets of San Angelo being repaired and the roads that will be worked on in the near future, as well as report potholes and learn how the streets are built and maintained. .

Active street projects in San Angelo

The City of San Angelo has several active street projects underway in May 2021, which include repairs to roads caused by the winter storm in February and the reconstruction of significant parts of Bell Street, Southwest Boulevard and Chadbourne Street in downtown San Angelo.

Updates regarding the reconstruction of the water and sewerage, drainage and pavement of Bell Street can be found on the site.

Future street projects taking place in San Angelo

Other streets and roads in San Angelo, from Sunset Drive to Knickerbocker Road, will be repaired in the coming months. According to cosatx.us/streets, some of these projects are as follows:

Howard Street

  • What: Mill and superposition
  • How long: Beginning of May 2021

Sunset walk

  • What: Mill and superposition
  • How long: Beginning of summer

Boulevard des Collines du Collège

  • What: Reconstruction of the roadway and drainage works
  • How long: The design phase is 60% complete

Chadbourne Street

  • Or: Ave. L to Ave. B
  • What: Reconstruction of the roadway
  • How long: Currently in the design phase
  • Or: Loop 306 N. to 43rd St.
  • What: Reconstruction of the roadway
  • How long: The utilities part is 80% complete. The street portion is approaching the auction stage.

Rio Concho Road

  • What: Reconstruction of the roadway and drainage works
  • How long: The design phase is 60% complete

Jackson Street

  • Or: Knickerbocker Road to the railroad tracks
  • What: Reconstruction of the roadway
  • How long: The design phase is 75% complete

The City has indicated that other repair projects will include East Harris Street, Johnson Street, Christoval Road, N Avenue and Smith Boulevard.
