New Bing URL Inspection Tool
Bing has announced a new URL inspection tool. The tool provides actionable SEO insights and feedback designed to help pages rank better.
Provides answers to common SEO issues
Bing’s new tool provides direct answers and data that not only helps diagnose indexing issues, but also provides data for troubleshooting.
What is remarkable about the tool is that it is designed to solve SEO related issues. Similar to indexing solutions, Bing will also give suggestions on how to improve SEO related issues.
Additionally, the tool can inspect a URL and give feedback on it for issues related to indexing, SEO, and tagging without indexing it.
This means that as long as the URL can be crawled, a URL can be in a staging environment and be tested without being indexed.
Crawling, indexing, SEO issues
The URL Inspection Tool provides detailed information on:
- Crawl issues
- Indexing status
- SEO errors
- Structured markup information
According to Bing:
This card displays index status and URL details. It includes details about each step, i.e. when and where the URL was discovered, crawled and indexed, as well as the ability to see an HTML format and HTTP response details from it.
This section provides details… about errors and warnings based on SEO on their webpage. With around 15 SEO best practices in place… a detailed analysis of the errors and highlights the corresponding HTML code and the steps to correct them.
Checks the availability and implementation of selected structured markup languages…
Often, webmasters want to determine whether or not a page on their site is crawlable without asking for the index. This feature addresses this and is particularly useful for investigating content where their site may have been compromised and for example sends different HTML code to search engine crawlers than to users.
Bing provides useful SEO tools
Bing’s URL Inspection Tool helps solve many SEO and technical issues.
